Helmshore Textile Mill to re-open 3-days a week 2018

The Helmshore textile mill, Rossendale, Lancashire will re-open in late Spring 2018, according to a report released by Lancashire Council on April 12th.

Helmshore Mill, along with Queen Street Textile Mill and the Judge’s Lodgings museum, Lancaster will open for the next 2 years between Easter and end of October, 3-days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

Many of the regions museums were closed in 2016 due to budget cuts and the prospect of large maintenance costs of the buildings and exhibits looming.

Provisional opening dates for Helmshore Textile Mills Museum is the Spring Bank Holiday weekend of 26th and 27th May. This will be dependent on a number of factors, and therefore cannot be confirmed currently.
